Science Comedy Night, a one-of-a-kind show that blends science with stand-up comedy, is coming back to SPRUNG! Comedy Festival. Hosted by science journalist, and comedian Kasha Patel, this show mixes fun with facts with stand up comedy.

Kasha Patel is a stand-up comedian and journalist. She holds a chemistry and science journalism degree. She was named one of the “Best Undiscovered Comedians” in the U.S. by Thrillist magazine because of her unique voice that couples life as an Indian-American and her love for science. She gave a TEDx talk called “Sneaking Science into Stand-Up,” where she shares a series of surprising revelations pulled from her analysis of more than 500 of her stand-up jokes. She has been featured on NPR, BBC World, Travel Channel, The Science Channel, The Weather Channel, and hosted a miniseries on NASA TV.

This show promises to deliver a night that is both funny and educational—no lab coat required!

SPRUNG! is Silver Spring's very own comedy festival. Over four nights in March 2026, Improbable Comedy will present 10 unique shows of hilarious comedy at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre, along with comedy classes and events.
